ProvenPath™ Competency Credit: Shorten Your Course with Approved Experience

The benefit

Approved experience may shorten your course

Competency Credit is a formal review of healthcare experience you already have. If approved before your program begins, credit may be applied to eligible portions of the course so you do not repeat skills you can already demonstrate. This can reduce your required training hours and shorten your individual course plan.

What approved credit can change

Your individual course plan

Approved credit can reduce the training you must complete and shorten your program. The exact change depends on the experience and skills verified during your evaluation.

Experience that may be reviewed

  • EKG skills experience
  • Previous medical experience

How to request Competency Credit

  1. 1Contact our office to complete the Work Experience Transfer Equivalency Evaluation Form.
  2. 2Have your previous work experience verified by your employer or human resources department.
  3. 3Complete a clinical skills validation with a licensed clinician.
  4. 4Receive written approval before your program start date.

Approval is required before your program starts.

Credit is not automatic or guaranteed. Only portions approved through the evaluation may be credited. Every student must complete all remaining required training and meet all certification-eligibility requirements.
