The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a federal program aimed at improving workforce development systems and enhancing employment opportunities for individuals facing barriers to employment. WIOA funding can cover a wide range of workforce development services, including tuition and fees for approved training programs, such as vocational training, certificate programs, and apprenticeships. Additionally, WIOA may cover expenses related to supportive services like transportation, childcare, and textbooks to help participants overcome barriers to participation and completion.
